Barcode Asset Tracking with RFIDThe OPUS Asset Tracker is a comprehensive tracking solution for physical 'assets' and can utilize barcodes (1D or 2D) or RFID tags. With user definable metadata fields, OPUS can be easily configured to track any type of asset and capture all required data. Different asset types can be separated by user definable categories or even stored in separate databases.

Asset retirement rules can be defined and attached to an asset that will calculate disposal dates. These dates can be based on specific dates or a calculation from user definable event dates.

Planned Maintenance and other user definable event notifications can also be defined and attached to Asset Items. This will also provide an extensive history of all PM or events types, also including non scheduled events.

All asset movement is tracked and can be reported through user definable 'Circulation' reports. Assets can be charged out using barcodes or RFID tags and the 'receivers' signatures can be captured and stored with the transaction. Portable barcode and RFID readers can also be used for inventory and for finding missing assets.

Some industry applications for OPUS Asset Tracker:

  • Museum artifact tracking
  • Medical equipment tracking
  • IT asset tracking
  • Weapon tracking
  • Automobile fleet tracking

The OPUS Asset Tracker can be configured for small departmental solutions with only one user or for enterprise asset tracking solutions with hundreds of users. Multiple levels of user security allow administrators to limit the user's access to functionality.
