AV equipment is in a constant state of movement in school districts. Not only moving from room to room, but school to school.

A web based version of the OPUS Asset Tracker was utilized to keep track of the over 1,500 devices. From an OPUS portal, users can easily determine where equipment is located and even submit request to check the equipment out. Since this was a hosted version, the school district only needed Window or Mac browses to get started.

OPUS Asset Tracker provides easy Check Outs/Ins using barcode technology or RFID tags. All Asset Tracking includes history in the Chain of Custody and is available for lookups or reporting. When assets are missing, the OPUS RFID portable reader is great for scanning areas to find the missing equipment.

Equipment managers can monitor the maintenance schedule of the equipment and history of any equipment issues. Asset tracking of the devices has cut down on the acquisition of replacement devices, since these assets can always be found. In some cases even retirement schedules can be assigned to the equipment.
